چکیده

Abstract Background Based on the rising detection of asymptomatic brain metastases (BM) and remarkable intracranial responses targeted- immunotherapy in specific subgroups BM patients, we aimed to evaluate clinical characteristics prognostic value neurological symptoms from melanoma. Material Methods 670 patients with newly diagnosed melanoma were identified Vienna Brain Metastasis Registry. We performed retrospective chart review statistical outcome analyses. Results 370/670 (55.2%) presented including deficits (316/370; 85.4%), signs increased pressure (126/370; 34.1%) epileptic seizures (53/370; 14.3%). 57.6% (80/139) BRAF mutated at diagnosis. Absence diagnosis was associated a longer median overall survival after time (7 vs. 5 months; p< 0.001; log-rank test). In multivariate analysis diagnosis-specific graded assessment (DS-GPA: HR:1.4; 95% CI, 1.25-1.48; p<0.001) for using molecular markers (Melanoma-molGPA: HR:0.8; 0.66 -0.92; p<0.001), presence (HR 0.8; 0.69 -0.96; p=0.003/ HR:0.6; 0.59-0.72; found be independently prognosis respectively. Conclusion: Neurological are an independent strong factor patients. Our results argue integration into

Targeting Brain Metastases in Patients with Melanoma

Patients with brain metastases from malignant melanoma historically have a very poor outcome. Surgery and radiotherapy can be used, but for the majority of patients the disease will progress quickly. In the recent past, patients with brain metastases derived only minimal benefit from cytotoxic chemotherapy. Novel therapies that have been shown to be superior to chemotherapy in metastatic melano...

High expression of lncRNA PVT1 independently predicts poor overall survival in patients with primary uveal melanoma

The plasmacytoma variant translocation 1 gene (PVT1) plays an oncogenic role in the initiation and progression of multiple cancers. In this study, by using deep-sequencing data and follow-up data in the Cancer Genome Atlas-Uveal melanomas (TCGA-UVM), we assessed the association between the expression of PVT1 and clinicopathological characteristics of patients with uveal melanoma, the mechanism ...

Survival of melanoma patients with brain metastases treated with ipilimumab and stereotactic radiosurgery

UNLABELLED Historically, melanoma with brain metastases has a poor prognosis. In this retrospective medical record review, we report the outcome of patients with stage IV melanoma with brain metastases treated with ipilimumab and brain stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS). All patients with metastatic melanoma treated with ipilimumab from June 2010 to September 2012 were identified and stratified by...
